please help me, this bug doesnt let me select a career for my sims, or use my phone, it has made me lose interest in the game, as i have spent a lot of money on the Sims 4 and i dont want to stop playing due to lack of interest..
please note that i have tried everything.
- removing mods
- renaming and replacing the sims 4 folder
- repairing game
it will not let me use my phone or choose a career ( see attached ) on any sims, even when i make a new save with no mods and replacing the sims 4 folder.
it proceeds to give me a UIexception.
i know it doesn't have anything to do with my mods, as previously stated, i tried removing them and making a new save.
@tahliax05 UIExceptions are bit unclear but could you upload yours ?

an Exception doesnt show when i try to look for a job,

hi, thank you for the advise.
My sim has never had a an odd job. as i recently started playing after a while so i started a new game. 🙂
- @tahliax05 That exception still shows your game modded though. Do you have one from an unmodded game ?

Heyy, I might know the reason for this glitch and you might be able to reproduce it in your own game, Crinrict. I’ve had the same thing happen to me. However, I was still able to use my sims phone to apply for a job. I was able to reproduce this issue once before in a vanilla save due to my hunch about odd jobs being the culprit after assuming it was due to cc. Have your sim apply for a job… and to be honest, I don’t think they need to have a career for you to replicate this glitch. Anyway, have your sim apply to do an odd job. I don’t think you have to do the odd job but you can or you can just cancel it. Either way, once you cancel it or your sim returns home from it, check the job tab via the sim panel. If I’m right, the tab for finding a job will be blank. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to fix the issue and I’m 4 generations in so I haven’t tested moving to a new folder to see if it brings the tab back to before it went blank. They could maybe rollback to a previous save before the issue if they have one. It’s been an issue for a while but I never reported on it.
