Edit: This might be a game bug introduced with the latest patch. There are some reports about similar le messages, but with dishes instead of books as in your case. Have a look at this AHQ topic. You might "me too" it, since the issue mentioned there it's quite similar to your error and has probaly the same cause.
As far as I can see a sim (might also be a NPC) was not able to autonomously read a book. Reason might be the mentioned footprint error which usually means, that there is not enough room for that particular sim to manouver and to perform the needed interactions. That failure doesn't look like it's caused by mods, so there is no need to remove anything.
Make sure your sims have enough room to travel around on the lot and interact with objects/perform animations. If you use the move objects cheat, try to use it less and make sure it is off during gameplay.
@angieram01 Is this occurring for you mod-free, or only when you have mods and CC?
