Latest update (Jan 16) makes my Sims do nothing

My Sims stop working after a minute of game play after the latest update.

I have no error messages, I have repaired the game, I have removed old Mods. Starting the game works just fine, I give them instructions and they start doing them, but then freeze in position and just stand there, doing absolutely nothing. Tried debug, nada.

  • @Jyrkii76 Please test in a clean folder:

    • Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Copy your Saves folder too if you think you might accidentally save while testing.
    • Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
    • Start a "New" save to test if your issue recurs.
    • If that works, exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
    • Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.
    • If that works, you can copy your old Tray files (this is your Library), Screenshots and Videos files.
    • To test mods, copy them into the new folder *in batches* with any mods they depend on (injectors and core mods, for example). Don't copy your old resource.cfg file. If you delete any mods from the new folder, delete localthumbcache. You'll find my instructions on testing here: 50-50

  • @Jyrkii76Maybe a silly question... but did you run repair from EA panel and delete the thumbcache and start a new game with a new sim to test?

@ErykaNeko I did repair from the EA panel (Win 11). Did not delete the thumbcache though, just removed everything from my library (those are the only mods I've used).
