Lost scouting badges and badge progress

While this is not a new issue for me, I am growing increasingly frustrated with this glitch in this particular save file. I have two children in my sim household, both grade school students, different aspirations, but both are in the scouting after school activity, as well as one other activity...sim 1 has drama while sim 2 has science club. Both children had 2 completed badges which they collected, and were making progress towards other badges.

When I restarted the game, both children had lost all their badges and progress, starting back at 0. Like I mentioned earlier, this is not a new glitch I've been experiencing. I've had this issue with different households, different lots, different saves, etc. I do have a lot of mods and cc; however, I haven't received any BE errors that mention any afterschool activity, let alone scouting. The error occurs with and without childhood aspiration mods installed. MCCC, Better Exceptions, Tmex All Cheats, and UI Exceptions mods are updated, and I've used multiple mod/cc manager applications with nothing showing up as a possible cause, such as conflicting mods, outdated mods, or duplicates.

I haven't been able to find a solution anywhere online, and normally this glitch doesn't bother me as I can always use the equip scouting aptitude trait cheat. But as I'm trying to switch gameplay up a bit and NOT use cheats, this glitch is becoming increasingly annoying. The only way for me to earn the trait manually is to complete all badge goals in one game session, but I don't have the patience for that and was hoping to find an easier and more sustainable solution.

Any ideas?

  • @RacrGurl Since the issue occurs randomly this makes it more challenging for you to identify which Mod/CC is causing the bug. If I were you I would try a few things...

    1. Check the list of broken Mods/CC to see if any of yours are on the list: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/READ-FIRST-Broken-Updated-Mods-amp-CC-thread/m-p/11063782#M4755
    2. I would save frequently, then see if, when I re-entered my game and saw the missing items, if I could recover the items by going back to a previous game save (the most recent option to restore to), and see if the items are there then. If not, try going back to a different time when the items were there and see if they are recovered.
    3. To return to a previous save:
      In-Game Method:
Go to the Main Menu and choose 'Load Game'. Select a saved game, then hover over the small folder icon and click this icon.
This will reveal your most recent saves on that 'Game Save'. Select the 'Recover' button on the version (see time stamp) that you prefer.
Example: At the main menu, select "Load Game":

Now click the 'save' icon (showing with 'Recover Save' text on hover below:

Now, choose the most recent recovery option:

I also save a copy of my game folder on my computer each day I play in case I need to revert back to it.
