Lost Tooth After Eating Grandparent Candy/Patch to Disable Installed

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.397.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except Bust the Dust
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have child sim eat grandparent candy
What happens when the bug occurs? Child sim loses a tooth and gets tooth fairy certificate
What do you expect to see? I expect the sim not to lose a tooth or get a certificate since that functionality was disabled temporarily with the latest patch.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I had my child sim try grandparent candy and he lost a tooth/got a tooth fairy certificate in his inventory. Below is the popup/inventory item I recieved.

I didn't expect this since I installed the patch that removed that functionality from the game. I know the patch is working in my game as this sims brother had a loose tooth prior to the patch and that moodlet went away after the patch was installed.

This did happen on a game with mods but since it seems to be a random chance event I wasn't sure I could recreate it "on demand" in a vanilla game and thought it was important enough to report since I understand functionality related to losing teeth was disabled recently.

I am reverting back to a previous save before this happened to be safe.

Probably better safe than sorry, but is it possible that this was actually safe since it seems to have jumped right over the loose tooth moodlet to the result of a lost tooth?

  • @SimsLegacy5083 Since you had mods in at the time of this happening, it's unclear if this happend because of the mod. If the mod has the functionality active, it's possible that the override didn't turn off completely.

Also it's not a functionality that will stay off forever. It's just until they fixed it.
