MC vs UI Extension

I know MC does a whole lot more than the UI extension mod but does UI offer anything that MC doesn't? Just trying to figure out if I need them both.

Actually I am sooooooooooooo torn between them. My laptop doesnt support both and I am like......eeeeeeeeehhhhhhhh :s
