MCCC--this vampire couple is out of control!

So, I use MCCC mostly for story progression, and I really love it for that, but lately I've noticed something in regards to one of my NPC couples. These two, the Augustines, have been in my game a while (I've in my 4 or 5th generation now)

One of my sims recently got married, and when I moved in the spouse I checked her geneology, along with the rest of her stats, and noticed that the male Augustine, Sergio, is her father. And um...

not only her father but...

I counted 48 children, only two with his wife. The wife has just as many out of wedlock children. Between the two of them they have almost a hundred offspring. I have the max children a sim can have set at 7, which is supposed to be over their whole lifetime, but maybe that only applied for in household?? Since I have out of marriage pregnacies enabled, I guess they can just keep...infinitely spawning, as long as it's with different sims?? They're vampires so they don't die...I'm starting to run out of sims that aren't related to them!

Of course, the family tree in game is so awful, I can't really even tell what's going on lol. The other parent for most of them died ages agoand so it's just a blank, if it bothers showing another parent at all. For all I know, this is just a glitch and they're not really the parents at all, but who knows? I can't see enough details figure out for sure.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on what to do? I normally like to keep track of my NPCs and keep them in some kind of order, but I'm honestly so overwhelmed...

It's just...so...many

I play static: no births, no deaths, always aging off, so I didn't have something like this in my game.

With the MCCC 'MC Pregnancy' module, you have the possibility to change such a behavior:
In the MC Pregnancy Settings for “Pregnant Sim Selection”, there is a setting for “Pregnancy Adjustment Percent”. The higher this number is, the greater a chance you’ll have Sims getting pregnant. The lower the setting is, the less chance you’ll have for Sims getting pregnant. If you set it to the lowest value, “-100”, then pregnant Sims will not be generated by MC Pregnancy.
    .

And of course there is a setting to bypass the played households, so that the above setting only affects unplayed households/NPC.

  • well, yeah, I already have my settings set pretty low, I always do. I have my settings how I want, and I've never had this problem before. As I said, there's supposed be a max of 7 offspring per sim, but it doesn't seem to be in effect with these two for some reason. Not to be rude, but maybe give some advice that doesn't assume I don't know how the mod works?

That is kind of rude. There's a lot of people on the forum who ask these questions and indeed have no knowledge as to how the mod works, or simply hadn't known a certain option existed. So when nice people go out of their way to offer help, they will usually try and cover the basics first.
  • I don't want to use a no offspring flag, yes I'm aware it exists. I want the mod to do what I tell it to, which is to allow offspring UP TO seven children, which it should be able to do. Also, I wouldn't have known to use the flag until AFTER the problem became apparent, so all this advice is useless unless I could time travel back to before all this craziness happened, and so suggesting that is quite frankly condescending and also dumb. There is CLEARLY there is a bug here that needs to be addressed. All of my settings are set exactly the same as the always have been, and this is the first time this has happened, so obviously some sort of problem exists outside of the settings. All I wanted to know was if other people have had this same issue, and if there were any patterns we could discern from it, like if vampires somehow glitch the system or something, not to have someone assume I'm an imbecile and make a big long post spelling out things I already know, and that wouldn't do anything to address current problem anyway. The entire tone of that post was patronizing and insulting, and quite frankly I showed remarkable restraint in my response.

I guess since these are the only responses, no one else has encountered this, so unless someone has a mod that installs a better genealogy feature, or has an explanation as for why my offspring limit isn't working properly, I suppose this thread is done. Thanks for nothing everyone.
