Missing necks and faces, most likely a corrupted save?

Issue: Townies have been spawning with missing necks or faces, as well as my played sims when they age up to teenager. The only way to fix them, is to go into CAS and go to each category (everyday, formal, active, hot weather, etc.) and manually put in a premade face on each one. Genetics can be tweaked as normal after that.

Attempted fixes: I checked all my mods for updates, and any that needed updating got updated. I deleted avatarcache.package, localthumbcache.package, cleared the cache folder, deleted Resource.cfg from the mods folder. Still had the same issue. I then went through and completely removed my mods, and put them back in a few at a time and checked each in a brand new game without saving, repeated until I went through all mods. There was no issue with missing necks or faces. But when I went back to the save I've been playing on, the problems persists.

Conclusion: I think my save might be corrupted, but I don't know what more to do to try to fix this. I'm a few generations into a legacy so I really don't want to have to start over on a new save.

  • @NymiraB  It's often necessary to fix affected sims after removing mods or custom content.  In this case, perhaps taking them into CAS and changing a couple of details would be enough to fix them, that is if you care about them enough to work on them instead of just getting rid of them entirely.

  • @NymiraB  Does this happen in your existing save if you play it with no mods or custom content?  Please make sure you're specifically looking at newly-generated sims, not sims that spawned before you removed mods and cc that you might not have noticed until now.

Sorry for the super late reply, I was trying to go through and get new sims to populate to see what was going on.

I'm still seeing sims with missing necks and faces, but there's a lot less now (maybe the ones I'm now seeing were already generated, I just hadn't seen them up until now? I don't know). There are more that are back to normal now. I guess I just assumed once I took care of the problem cc, all the sims would be automatically fixed.

@puzzlezaddict I'll just let the remaining messed up sims die out naturally in my game, there are none that really mean much to me. Thank you! So glad it's not what I thought it was, haha.
