I logged about 100 hours before I started adding mods and cc to my game. Better than most "casual games" which usually max out at about 48 hours of gameplay (some of my favorite casual games are the offline hidden object story games - the online hidden object games repeat the same scenes too often), but nowhere as stellar as the rest of the series. Mods and cc add new things to do between releases of new packs.
In my opinion, the plethora of custom content available is what made Sims 1 such a hit...it was easy to make custom content for that game since it wasn't true 3d, and there were tools provided by Maxis to make your own custom paintings, new Sims heads, and custom walls and floors while the official TS1 site was still up (CTO Sims used to also have these available until the site went down). I've used custom content for EVERY game in the series, because the interior decorator in me demands more colors and options, as well as objects that aren't included in the official game or EPs.
