[Mod Related] Game doesn't save/Time reset on transition/(Part) Progress lost

I had this Groundhog Day nightmare with one of my main files sometime yesterday, after the latest patch on 26th of July, to this intensity. For the time being this savefile is temporarily abandoned, and no older saves have been revisited in fear of breaking them too. While I have not had this exact issue again so far, I have one that feels related which is why I'm replying here. ~~Apologies in advance for a long and wordy addition to the thread, and additional apologies if I am asking in the wrong place.~~

EDIT: Removed my wall of text about what I thought worked at the time because honestly it did NOT, it came right back soon after. It was a bit of luck, a brief break from the bug and a whole truckful of wishful thinking that I don't believe is useful to anyone at this point. It certainly didn't work back then even for me.
Judging by this whole thread, I just got lucky at some point much more recently after the hotfix and/or a heaping helping of mod updating.

  I spent the day trying to figure this out as well. In my scenario, mods were not the culprit as I still had the issue with and without them installed. I can't believe the update messed up the game so badly, I never had problems with my saves or game this bad!

  @SirkusAceMy game is actually functional now as far as *this* egregious mess is concerned. WITH mods (specifics removed) and various CC. All that could be updated have been updated, after rigorous file refreshing and the latest hotfix. I have been able to use simple saves for multiple days (real-time days) of play now. My pessimistic nature is at this point just waiting for what seems to be a more severe save bug, but for now I'm good with the exception of the wants and fears refusing to stay out of my lane, (happened after the hotfix, joy) which *I have dropped a +me too* on the relevant thread I found for that specifically.
  
  I'm so sorry for everyone still affected by save issues just in general, because SOMETHING is clearly mangled still and I'm not skilled or knowledgeable enough to tell what I did that actually slammed the proverbial wheel back in place. I did however want to add a testimony of a game working as intended (other nuisances not withstanding) WITH a cocktail of mods and CC installed currently. Both a fresh new save after things appeared to finally be fixed, and a recent one I HAD issues with prior. The only thing beyond saving (pun not intended) is my original problem save, that fell to the infinite loading death early on.

    @khitteh Do you have MCCC in? And did you ever change lifespan from normal back to anything else?
    
    I also have never seen the 532 error.
    
    I was going through my notes (yep, one of those people) and narrowed it down from the last time I had reversion to the last days of no issues whatsoever even using the updated adult mod.
    
    And there seems to be only one common thing that I changed when the issues seem to have stopped (oh man did I just jinks)
    
    And I also removed all adult mod stuff and installed fresh before these tests, so there was nothing old left behind.
    
    Anyway, here are my steps to when it stopped.
    
    Before all I turned my lifespan back to long life from normal, all I ever played
    
    -Stated a new sim that wanted to be a werewolf
    -moved in, built house no problem
    -got to be wolf, and a few abilities
    -entered CAS fix clown clothes on wolf form....
    -all reset to the day I stated this sim like move in day
    -quit without saving for the day
    -next day started sims, and it showed that wolf on resume for the not saved sim
    -hit resume
    -all at start like move in day----played a bit
    -Realized my teen sim only had 12 days left till B-day
    (long life should be longer)
    -tried applying normal than back to long lifespan, never changed days left
    -looked into it, and found that MCCC was forcing only normal lifespan
    Never did that in all the years I used it (never touched MCCC's Age stuff)
    Found out EA changes Lifespan lengths and MCCC was still using old normal ages
    Read on site that they know of issue and MCCC will show different ages than the Base game.
    -So at that point I removed MCCC
    -Started Sims
    -Resumed Game, and it now showed correct lifespan as set in the base preferences.
    -Have been playing no issues ever since, now leader of a pack and lots of abilities.
    
    I am leaving MCCC out till they fix the age differences, and started thinking that if one was trying to save an age/lifespan that was not agreeing with the base game age/lifespan, this could cause big issues on saves, could be wrong.
    
    CM EDIT: Do not mention 18+ Mods.

My game is doing this too. I thought I fixed it when I removed a mod but it started doing it again. I have run multiple repairs since the new pack was downloaded.

My situation is:
The problem occurs on old save all the time (100%).
I started a new game without removing mods and played for two days, it goes much much better. But it still occurred once, reverted a few in-game hours. I think it is not just the mods as the new game is playable.
I will remove the mod folders and try again.

  @Foxbite I started a new save and the problem was worse on a fresh save for the me. I couldn't even use cas or travel on a fresh save where on my old save the reset is only at load in.

i have tried everything. I have removed all mods, some mods, reinstalled, repaired, and nothing seems to help with this issue. I like many others purchased this pack in advance. It is disappointing that there are so many bugs. I have almost every single pack except and I have never encountered a problem like this. I unfortunately need to stop playing until there is a fix for this.

  This change log came from the mod no one will mention. I have installed and all seems to be working at the moment. I hate that ppl are blaming modders for this problem when clearly it's not and they seem to be the only ones trying to find us any kind of fix... I'll report back after a day to let you guys know if anything changed or broke. but in the meantime I think this download is worth a try for anyone who's having the issue with your day rolling back.

  Added a workaround to prevent the save rollback issue
  A lot of you reported issues with your game save going back in time, so I investigated it. Although I wasn't able to find the cause of this bug, I learned that something changed in the latest patch in regards to how outfits data is working now. I managed to construct a workaround that avoids the "sensitive" point causing the save to break.
  
  I don't know if this fixes all occurrences of this problem, if other mods can cause it, if the game itself can cause it, or what really is the source of it. It will take a while to figure it out, but hopefully this workaround is enough for now.

    @Anucass It's good to know that at least modders are trying to address it, if EA is going to turn a blind eye towards it. I hope we really don't have to wait long for an official fix, but I heard about the rocket ship glitch that effectively took a year to be fixed, and it's frightening that this could probably be another thing which could take long to be fixed.
