[MOD RELATED] My sim can mount their horse but can't ride it.

This has been happening for me, too. My Sim can mount the horse, but the horse neighs & a routing issue thought-bubble appears. Then the Sim glitches off to the side of the horse. 

I do use mods, I’ve updated them all. I tried playing my current save & have removed my LittleMissSam mod folder (I’ve seen a few other Simmers mention this worked for them as they found one of their mods by LMS was causing the problem.)

I’ve repaired the game, that didn’t work either.

I’ve also tried removing the complete mod folder, clearing the cache files & loading a new save but the same horse-riding issue occurs.

Try the following

• Close the game
• Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
• Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
• Start a new save game
• Check if you still have the error
• Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

Ok, I tried the steps above and the horse riding seems fine.

So it’s a mod, somewhere.

First only put back your save game

Copy all content from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old\Saves to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves 

If there's a duplicate because of the new save you created, either just overwrite the file if you don't want to keep the new save or rename the new one to a different number that hasn't been used.

Now test again. If it still works, you can put the following folders back (just copy the content like you have done for the saves to their respective folders

- Screenshots

- Recorded Videos

- Tray (your houses and households)

- Custom Music if you have any

Test again.

If it still works you can move on to your mods folder.

Copy stuff back in groups. Start with CC, most should be fine., then your mods but do make sure they are compatible

Honestly, all mine updated in cursedforge, but my sims still won't stay mounted :/ I play on laptop and pc. I had this issue on my pc at home and updated a bunch of my mods (curseforge and outside mods) and it fixed it. 

I did the same thing on my laptop and it's not fixing it ☹️ 

I had the same issue. My Sim would try to mount the horse, the horse would get the saddle on and then it all glitched out. I tried that activity with another horse in the household and another Sim and had the same issue. It turned out my mare was pregnant. When the foal was born, the riding was not a problem again. 

I can confirm this works, some of the mods are out of date so I delete a mod and it worked!

Could you confirm which mod was the issue for you? Just in case I have the same one. I’ve been filtering through my mods individually and it’s taking forever 😭
