Mods and cc gone from folder

I opened my mods folder only to find that all of my mods and almost all of my cc has seemingly disappeared from my mods folder. I've checked the recycle bin and its not there so I haven't deleted it. ...

I'm trying to download custom content for my Sims 3 64-bit and Metal version on my MacBook, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it appear in my game. Please help!!!!
