Mods and Custom Content Not Appearing in Game

Hello! I recently began using Mods and CC in the Sims 4 and I am having some issues with it. I started fresh by deleting and re-downloading everything in my Mods folder, only this time I put CC items into subfolders. For example, The Sims 4>Mods>Women's Hair. Because I have multiple subfolders within the Mods folder, I read that I needed to update the resource.cfg file to one compatible for various subfolders.

Upon opening my game, none of my new Mods and CC popped up. I ensured that in my game options, Mods and CC were enabled as well.

Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to fix this issue? I really don't want to have to leave my Mods and CC disorganized within the Mods folder.

Thanks a bunch! xx

Yes, I understand how it works but the game looks in Macintosh HD > Users > [your user account] > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 for the data. You are adding in iCloud to the file path so it gives up and creates a new folder as it can't find one.

There is a Discord that some Mac users frequent yes but I cannot link to it here, have a google 🙂

Edit to add - I play on a MacBook Pro and an iMac and do this to sync my saves, Mods and Tray folders - https://bluebellflora.com/syncing-sims-4-saves-using-the-cloud-and-playing-on-multiple-computers/ it keeps all folders local on your machine but uses cloud syncing to keep them up to date, it's fantastic.

  • I am also having issues; however on my MacBook Pro I have multiple folders named documents and all of them say they are empty!?
