Mods not working no matter what I do!

I love the Sims4 even when it doesn't have any mods, but I also like using mods to spice up the way my Sims look, but after the most recent update, they just won't work! I have tried re-enabling them, scanning them with mod scanners, repaired my game, cleared all my mods and downloaded new updated ones, and then re-enabled them after that, and yet it still won't let me use them!!! Please help me... Also I have had this problem since the day the newest update came out to today. Please tell me the solution! ALSO, I DO HAVE THE RESOURCE FILE STILL!

  • @sqj9laohgus3  Do you use a third-party antivirus, and if so, which one?  If not, is Controlled Folder Access active?  Here's how to check:

It may help to set exceptions in CFA, or in your antivirus software, for Sims 4 and the EA App.  You may also need to let the game generate a new Mods folder and download fresh copies of your mods in order for them to work.  I'm not sure whether this is the case, but if your existing mods don't work, please try it with at least a couple new mods just to confirm either way.

Please also remember that the patch dropping in about 11 hours will break many if not most of the mods out there, so you may want to delay this process until your usual mods have been updated.  That way, you won't need to repeat the process again tomorrow.

@sqj9laohgus3  If you move the existing Mods folder out of the Sims 4 folder it's in, for example to the desktop, and launch the game, a new Mods folder will be created.  Use that one instead of the old one.
