Mods/CC not showing up after reinstalling Sims 4

Hi everyone!

I recently had to delete the game from my computer due to storage issues. Before I did, I made sure to pull my save files and my mods folder out and save them to my desktop so I wouldn't lose them. I reinstalled the game finally and I added my mods folder back in and the saves, and everything seemed fine until I actually went to play a saved game and I was missing half of my CC and mods. Some stuff showed up, but a lot didn't. I've tried removing the old mods folder and letting a new one generate, then moving all 5K files over but it didn't help. I haven't been able to find a solution online or through testing other than redownloading everything which is a massive pain since like I said, there are a little over 5,000 files.

Also I'm playing on a Mac!

I'm not sure if anyone has encountered this or has a suggestion but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

  • @ElectricMecury  If you download a fresh copy of one or two mods or cc items that aren't showing up, do those work?  If so, then you might in fact be stuck downloading everything again, or at least the files that aren't working, but it's worth testing before you go that route.

Please also let me know whether there's any pattern to the items that don't show, for example maybe .ts4script mods work but not .package files.

Hi! Sorry for the delay, long week at work.

So I'm seeing the new copies of the CAS CC, but none of my Buy/Build items are showing up even with the new copies installed. Of course, my game has now been updated to the latest version that just came out.

There doesn't seem to be a pattern here, everything I have in my Mods folder currently is .package.

I don't even know what to do at this point since some of the new versions aren't showing up. I even tried to use TSR CC Manager but none of that stuff showed up at all despite the pathway being correct.

I've never had this happen and I have absolutely no idea how to get things working properly again :/

    Thank you for your suggestions!

@ElectricMecury  Do you get all your Build/Buy custom content from the same sources, and if so, does it help to download cc from a different source?  I'm really not sure what's going on here, to be honest, so I'm wondering if the problem is the content itself.

@puzzlezaddict So I get a lot from The Sims Resource, but also plenty from creators' tumblrs, other sites, etc. I think I might've fixed the issue though, I actually removed the Sims 4 folder and opened the game to create a new one, then I readded everything and it appears that most everything is there. I need to spend more time on it though to confirm. Now my whole UI is glitching though so I need to figure out what mod is causing that...lol always an issue playing this game it seems haha
