If you want to just hide the effects, but keep the buffs. MC has an option turn off headline effects. No restart required.
Headlineeffects off from the Cheats Window doesn't work on the sparkles. Unfortunately, neither does the MCCC setting. It does remove the plumbobs and thought bubbles, but not the sparkles.
After removing Shimrods Less Smiling Mod and going to my San Myshuno restaurant, my "The Sims 4 Is Not Responding" lag of several seconds is gone, even with the Lot Traits on. It could be that it just doesn't play well with another of my Mods, since I seem to be the only one so far with this.
