Hopefully, you've got your mods folder organized enough to where you have your mods separated from your CC. Chances are that your problem is due to a broken mod rather than CC.
So, move the mods out of the folder to somewhere else, desktop, into Documents, etc. to get them out of the game path. Then start the game and go to CAS. If everything looks ok, then you'll know it's a broken mod. But just to be sure, switch out your CC and put your mods in and do it again. Probably, you'll have the problem back.
Then it's a matter of figuring out which mod it is. And you'll have test them one at the time to find the broken one. Once you identify it, pull it from your mods folder and put both mods and CC back in and test one last time just to make sure that was the only one that's broken. Then check to see if you can find an update for the broken mod or just leave it out.

Not really. And if you have a lot in the mods folder, it will take you a lot of time. But it is worth it imo. Since you've got to do it anyway to find whatever it is that is breaking your game now, I do suggest you do separate your mods and CC and organize it while you're trying to find what it is that broke. Chances are, sooner or later, something else will get broken by an update and you'll have to do it again. And something always gets broken by a game update. There has not been one update in the last 5 years or so that didn't break something. Usually, it is script mods but I have had non-script mods and CC objects and clothes get broken too. So anything you have can get broken. Just a matter of time.
I keep each of my mods in a separate folder. I organize my CC by separating CAS stuff from Build/buy stuff. I use subfolders in those to further separate things. CAS for instance, I separate male and female clothes, jewelry, other accessories, custom body details, shoes, etc.. At the lowest level of the subfolder hierarchy, my folders are labeled by the site and the creator such like this: Site Name-Creator Name just so I can locate things quickly when I have something break or need to replace it. How you organize is up to you. Whatever works best for what you have but so you can locate things quickly and easily. You do have to watch how deep you go with your subfolders. The deepest I go is 4 levels and that works well for me. And keep in mind that script mods, those that have ts4script file extensions, can only go one deep so my path for a script mod like MCCC is Mods>MCCC. Or Mods>Patreon-Weebesu-UI Cheats for that one.
I had something on the order of 20GB of CC at one time and let it get disorganized. It took me a few evenings to get it finally organized. And while I was doing it, I took a look at what I had in S4S and removed all those things that I downloaded because I thought it was nice or neat and just had to have at the time, but never used in my game plus I found a bunch of broken files and duplicates. After I got finished, I was down to 5GB and my game loaded so much faster and ran so much better. Now when there's an update that breaks one of my mods, I can find it in just a few minutes, get it updated or removed and I'm back to playing pretty fast. It is worth the effort! So I encourage you to go for it!
