It's even worse now with the whole "Sentiments" system in place. I just had a toddler try to hug her mother, and not only did the mother refuse, which caused a dip in their relationship, the mother got the "Hurt" sentiment toward the child, the tooltip text for which is: "<mother> feels wronged by <toddler>. and being around <toddler> will remind <mother> of that pain." All this because the mother refused the toddler's offer of a hug. It's asinine. (If anything, it should have been the toddler that got the "Hurt" sentiment toward the mother.)
Yes I have been having the same issue and it’s very annoying. My sims have two girls and when the eldest was an toddler the mother had the same reaction and the same for the younger daughter and their farther. I’m not sure it this is some kind of glitch but it needs to be fix. I’m not that bothered by the parents rejecting the hug it’s the sentiments that’s is the problem.
It doesn't solve the issue with sims 4 and sentiments being wrongly allocated, but if you download UI cheats, you should be able to right click sentiments to remove them.
