my sim won't go inside

i am trying to move my sim into an apartment and my sim, along with other sims outside cannot move from their spot. The bubble over their head shows that there is something in the way but there is not. i have tried reseting my sim but that does not help. im having trouble finding any one else that has had this issue. any suggestions? thanks!
