my sim wont walk up the stairs and into the house

i just created a new house on elevated terrain. i made stairs leading up the door in a somewhat L shape. the same shape is on the back door, and my sim seems to be fine walking through the back door,...

If you could attach a screenshot of the problem area along with your response to the following, we would be able to understand your problem in a little more detail.
1. what platform you are playing on
2. if you are playing on PC/Mac, whether or not you are using a mod/CC
