@Sydney6543 This sort of sounds more like an outdated Mod than bad Custom Content. Either way, here is something you can try:
Temporarily move your entire Mods folder out of your Sims 4 Documents folder to your Desktop. Just keep it safe there for now.
Next, clear your cache by deleting the localthumbcache.package file from your Sims 4 Documents folder (this part is very important!). The game will auto-generate a new, empty Mods folder and a new localthumbcache.package file the next time you launch it.
When you have finished, restart your game and try a test game on a New game save. If everything looks good you can exit without saving.
If all does look good now, if you want you can try transferring your mods and CC from your old Mods folder (the one you moved to your Desktop) a few files at a time into the new Mods folder in your Sims 4 Documents folder until you are able to find the bad file through some trial and error. When you are able to determine which file is causing the problem just delete it permanently. Delete that localthumbcache.package file again when you are done. I always delete that localthumbcache.package file anytime I make any changes in my Mods folder.
If none of this fixes the problem there are a few other things you can try, but try these first. Let us know how it works out, ok?
Good luck, I hope this helps :D
Sadly, this didnt work for me. I have the same problem, I cant click ANYTHING in CAS with cc in my game. I cant even close the game. I've tried reparing the game, uninstalling and re-installing, and your method. Nothing so far has helped me out, got any other advice, this game was expensive.

It's not the expensive game that's the problem, it's one or more CC/Mod items causing it. They are causing it because they are not compatible with the current patch level of the game. Follow @RandomBuzziness's advice to find the problematic item(s) and then download an updated, compatible version from the creator's website, if available.
CC/Mod creators are responsible for making sure their content is compatible with the game, not EA.
