My Sims 4 wont open a game (old or new) / launch (frozen at gallery)

Hi!

I just rebought the sims and started playing it a few days ago.

As of yesterday it updated automatically and then opened but then I wanted to switch on mods at settings and after that it stopped working.

I don't know if that has anything to do with it because before the update it also froze at the same place a few times.

I have reinstalled the sims, origins, updated my ios, disabled origin in-game etc.

Tried everything I could think of and suggested on these forums but nothing seems to work. I'm so bummed out.. please help ☹️

PS: I didnt have any mods yet so it can't have anything to do with having mods in my folders?

    @nuskreb1234  Please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save.

    If you get another freeze, please try enabling vertical sync in the graphics options.  You'll need to restart the game for the change to take effect.

    If that doesn't help either, please list the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac except for the serial number.
