my sims are no where to be found, i make a sims and i cant play it

my sims are no where to be found, i make a sims and i cant play it, i try to play a house it hows ppl inthere but when i go there there is no sims in there i dont know whats going on, i made  a new family still no family is there, since this game updated its been a peoblem.
