So my sims are both young adults and have been boyfriend and girlfriend since they were teenagers. Their romance bar is full and they recently became BFFs and now they suddenly can’t do any romantic ...

If you use the saving option Save As, naming it Test for instance, you can experiment, and if it doesn't work you can just load your old save again.
Other workarounds I found:
Switch active household to any other, play them for a little while, then switch back.
Move the girlfriend out into another household, for instance in Manage World view, play for a while, and then move the girlfriend back.
Make a new The Sims 4 folder, and see if the problem goes away. Here is a good description on how to do it. Only copy your saves to the new folder, to begin with, just to test. Your old folder and all the files will be safe where they are.

Hi @DonroaAkashu I have tried moving out the girlfriend and playing for a while, but she still can’t do any romantic actions with anyone, and I’m not sure how to access any of the cc or mods or even saving my sims 4 world to a folder.
if you don’t mind could I share my save, because I’m pretty useless at all this and I’m not really sure how to fix it other than the game play methods you’ve told me. How do I upload it to a sharing site? Thanks again.

You can use Google Drive, if you have it?
Log into your Google Drive account/gmail account. You'll find it by just searching google drive in a web browser, or from within your gmail-account etc.Choose New on the top left-side, and then File upload.
From the pop-up window navigate to where The Sims 4 folder is. It is always located in the Documents folder and then Electronic Arts folder.
Go into the The Sims 4 folder, and then into the folder saves. Sort them on latest made/changed, if you have many, or haven't done so before, to make sure you upload the right one; and choose to open the save. You'll find it in Google Drive window, and there is also a little pop-up window that it is done uploading. Right-click on the file icon, and then click Share in the menu. Make sure the sharing options is set to Anyone with a link... (and not OFF). Copy the link there, and paste it into a PM to me on AHQ.

Making a new folder:
The link I posted in my previous post is a good description, with screenshots. Another way of describing it is:
Find your The Sims 4 folder, in Documents>Electronic Arts. Right-click on it, and choose Rename. Add any word to it, for instance Play, so that it is now named The Sims 4Play. Start the game. You don't have to load more than to the main menu. Then exit the game, you don't have to save it. Now there is a new folder in Documents>Electronic Arts next to your old one. The new one is named The Sims 4. The game only reads/start/open the one named exactly The Sims 4, and so only the content in that one is visible when in-game. The other content is safe within the renamed folder. So you can have many folders with different content, by just renaming them, adding and retracting words. I have 15 at the moment, named The Sims 4Build; The Sims 4Play; The Sims 4Test etc. The one I want to load at the moment I rename back to just The Sims 4 and then start the game. You can copy any files from your The Sims 4Play folder, and paste it into the equivalent folder in The Sims 4 folder; and it will show up in-game. When you have problems in the game, this is a good way of making sure there is nothing with the user files in The Sims 4 folder creating the issues. And by copying and moving over only one type of file at a time, by process of elimination the problem can potentially be located. A lot of problems comes from mods and CC, so eliminating them first, if they are used, is best. The blog I linked above have a lot of different infoposts on the game.
Repair in Origin:
Log into Origin while it's online. Open My Game Library. Right-click on the picture/icon for The Sims 4. Choose Repair in the drop-down menu. Wait till all the packs you own are done, there is a little window at the bottom left of the Origin interface for the process. Restart Origin by logging out of it. Sometimes doing a repair twice will give a different result than just one. What it does is updating the program game files from EA servers (not the ones in your user folder which is The Sims 4 folder); and it is good to try when there are issues with the game.Sorry for the long post!
