My sims have disappeared! Pls help

I was updating my mod and once I entered my game again all of my sims were gone, and npcs were gone too! There was a flashing blue box at first when I hover over a family but now everything is just gone. I've tried to go back to a saved game but it doesn't show me the option to. I tried playing a new scenario in a different game and when I was moving in my sim she disappeared from the bottom left corner so I can't see her moodlets or anything on the task bar for that matter. I've tried repairing the game in EA and deleting all of my mods and nothing seems to work. I'm so upset so if anyone could offer me any advice on what to do it would be greatly greatly appreciated.
