Need help with Better Exceptions

Hello,

I have Better Exceptions, and it is working on my PC. However, there are times that it flags something, but it doesn't tell me what the file that is causing the problem is. Lately it is a script_object issue. I have been getting that a lot.

The latest one is: Exception during call to test method on <class 'sims4.tuning.instances.bookshelf_CleanUp'> (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'commodity_flags')

I spoke with one of the people who is helping TwistedMexi on Discord, but they were not of any help, and will not tell me what the file is causing this error. This is why I am here. I have deleted some old files up to 2023 and I am still getting that error. Can anyone help me with this? I just want to know where to look for this specific file that is the problem, so that I can delete that file.

I forgot to mention that I had to delete a whole bunch of old mods that it did screw up my game and I had to repair that. But I still get this error for some reason. Can anyone help me?

  • @SimSeeker That might just be something that went wrong in the game itself and not be related to any mods or CC at all. You can do a vanilla test, though, to rule that out fully. Drag the whole Mods folder to your desktop and delete localthumbcache. Make a Saves backup in case you forget to exit without saving. It's useful to test in a new save as well as your regular game.

  • @SimSeeker Better Exceptions can’t always tell where an error is coming from, and if it doesn’t know neither can we. Considering the error seems to be happening on putting books away - is that what you’re seeing in game as well? - you could possibly start with testing any cc storage you have, or possibly any cc books. But if that’s not a help, and the context of what is happening in game when the error occurs doesn’t help, you’ll need to do the 50/50 method:
