I haven't tried that, or seen it mentioned. I would say PROBABLY it needs to be done out of game, or, yes, at the very least, restarted to see changes take effect... that's how I've been doing it (out of game), just for stability's sake here... you know the issues I've had, I'm trying to be uber-careful (in my scattershot way).
