Neighborhood Stories: Adopt a Pet only results in dog adoption?

I wanted to test the waters with other players before opening a report in the bug forum. In the new neighborhood stories, if the Adopt a Pet option is on, families only adopt dogs, I've never had any...

@GiardiniDiMarzo It's hard to tell if it's a bug. In my eyes, just as children there are way to many pet adoption (one family adopted 4 dogs and a cat ... So while not a bug per se, it could still use some tuning

@crinrict Yeah that too, I disabled first the children adoption (because there was too many children after a week) and then the pets adoption started (and now I have too many dogs) So yeah, it needs some tuning for sure.
