@kelly2799 Do you have mods or CC in your Mods folder? If so, do a "vanilla" test to see if a mod/CC is your problem: Move (not copy) the Mods folder to the desktop (or rename it), delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving. See Broken/Updated Mods & CC 1.112 for some known problems.
I attempted this method to resolve my issue. The game still has not loaded. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled. I have moved the mods folder from sims 4 folder I deleted the cache folder you mentioned. no luck this far. I suspect its mod related in some way. I have adult mods and it was working yesterday. The update occurred automatically Ill definitely be turning that off when I get back in.
@DawnsWrath420 Did you delete the file called localthumbcache? It's a file, not a folder. The folders aren't mod-related.
Your current issue, though, might not be mod-related. You can try this:
- Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
- Run a Game Repair
- Launch Sims 4 to test
If you still have issues with that test, then please let me know if you're on a PC or a Mac so I can get you to the appropriate support area.
I deleted a folder by accident it was called "onlinelocalthumbcache" . I attempted to drag the sims 4 fold to desktop and run repair and It still didn't open. giving me same error code.
@DawnsWrath420 And are you on PC or Mac?
Im on PC
Thank you this worked and I found the broken mods!
@DawnsWrath420 Since there's now multiple people in this thread, I'd suggest going here and making a new post. Go over everything you've done to test in it: https://answers.ea.com/t5/PC/bd-p/The-Sims-4
