New

Hi!

I updated my game to the newest version (sept. 18) and i have this problem with my households. I have a save file i’ve been playing for years and i have a main household. I can’t play with them. I managed to open a house that is next to theirs (i think i was able to open it because their house doesn’t have cc). I can see my main family’s home and i can see that some cc pictures and their doormat has a green question mark with a purple-red background. Every time i try opening their household it’s giving me an infinite loading screen. Yesterday when i tried to open their household it just threw me to the world menu, but it doesn’t do that anymore.

I changed the game settings in the EA app Sims4>manage>view properties> launching options - i changed it to -dx11 (i saw this in another EA article), i have also tried repairing my game but nothing. I also tried placing their house from the gallery to an empty lot, hoping i would be able to take out cc but the game crashed completely.

I don’t know what to do anymore, someone please help me fix this, i’m fed up, i just want to play peacefully

The following cc items had the question mark: Littledica x Deligracy - Delicato Lounge Painting and a babygal123 doormat from a fall cc pack, another house in their neighbourhood has the same problem with the walls but i don’t know what wallpaper i used for sure but i think it was by Harrie or Felixandre  (these are the ones i know)

@Dreamer_Simmee Hello, There are numerous reported issues of Custom Content and Mods being broken with the latest update implimented using DX11, so now custom wallpapers are in need of batchfixes, thumbnails for some custom conent are either missing or have a questionmark like you are seeing, etc.

I would suggest moving all mods and CC out of your folders for the time being and playing a vanilla game temporarily.

If you know how to use the Sims 4 Studio, I would do a batch fix, as this has helped to recover most Custom Content. As for Mods and other Custom Content you may need to locate the creators for the new updates and fixes.
  • @Dreamer_Simmee If you don't want to do a Sims 4 Studio batchfix, you can check with creators for updates. At least some of the creators you use have been updating wallpapers. When I find CC creators who say that this is what their update is for and it's not a purely cosmetic update (many just update and don't say if it was just new colours or a new thumbnail or a necessary fix!), I list it in Broken/Updated Mods & CC , but the CC list there will never be complete.

@luthienrising So true, as I pointed out there is both options to fix ourselves or seek out the creators. But it is good to know what kind of updates creators do. Most are very good about being clear and specific with their content, but others... like you said... not always so clear.
