Newbie to gallery

I have base game and Cottage Living . When I go to gallery and search base game lots I can download them but I cannot place them?  If you do not have all the packs can you not use gallery? I’m new to sims and want a farm house I can Reno .  Appreciate any help!

    Once you're in the game, have clicked on a lot and clicked the build button, then you should be in build mode.  Look in the upper right corner for the Gallery button.  It looks like this...


    Once in the gallery, you'll find your saved lots and households in the My Library tab.

    Hello @AmandaSuarse82 !  Sorry you're having trouble.  You should be able to download and place any lot from the Gallery regardless of which packs you own.  Do you mind giving an example of a lot you're not able to place?  What happens exactly when you try to place them?

    It’s a complete farm house home “ fields family farm” I can download it , but in the bottom right thr place on lot button is grey ?  And it says cannot place in lots.

    Thanks for sharing that.  I see a number of lots by that name.  Do you mind telling us who the creator is for the one you have?

    It’s “PaytonMolla” original design by “lilsimsie”  it says “cannot place in this game mode”

    Thanks for that.  It sounds like you may still be in the main menu area.  You must be in a saved game in order to place lots.

    Ahh maybe how can I access gallery from a saved game ? Say I’m on the lot .
