No Leader in Rock Climbing event

In Snowy Escape i cannot make the rock climbing event, it will not allow me to choose the team leader, which is required. My sim has many friends and wife, he can choose the crew members, but he cant choose the leader, even if i try to start with members. i tried everything, from restarting, through cleaning up TS4 folder to repairs in Origin and it still does the exact same thing.
