npc sims moves randomly

Hi, my npc sims are moving into other npc households randomly.  how can i stop this ? 😞

  • @Atkuna Ah, yes, this sounds really familiar.  I installed the mod several weeks ago because so many people were suggesting it.  All of a sudden, I noticed families were changing, empty lots were filling even though I have my game options set to not fill them.  I actually wrote a separate post about my experience to caution people that just by adding the mod, its default settings will change the game in unexpected ways.  Sorry if that sounds a bit preachy 🙂

Anyway, so I'm still new to MCCC and still sort of learning.  From what I can tell, there are two menus you should investigate. You probably already know this but to find the right menus, you need to use your sims' computer to go to MC Command Center.

MC Population - Moves Settings.... - Allow Homeless Move-In; default setting is enabled.  This is letting those sims, who are "not in world", move in to your empty lots.

MC Pregnancy - There are lots of settings to check here and you might want to double check them all.  The Marriage settings are probably the main ones affecting the unwanted moves.  These settings are telling sims to shack up and have babies.

I would not be comfortable recommending specific settings for you since there are way too many variables.  I suggest creating a test game save to play around with these settings until you figure out which ones work best for you.

  • Hi @Atkuna !  Are you playing on PC or Mac?  Do you have any mods?  What you described sounds very much like something from MCCC, probably the population module.
