PLEASE HELP ☹️

  • It sounds like you’re dealing with a known issue that can sometimes happen after updates or when mods are installed in The Sims 4. Here are a few steps to help you troubleshoot this:

    1. Repair the Game through Origin (or EA App):

      • Open Origin or the EA App, find The Sims 4 in your library, right-click (or click the three dots on the EA App) and select "Repair." This will check the game files for issues and replace any corrupted ones.
    2. Delete the Cache Files:

      • Go to the Sims 4 folder in your Documents (Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4) and delete the localthumbcache.package file. This helps clear out any cached data that might be causing issues.
    3. Disable Mods and Custom Content:

      • If you’re using mods, try disabling them temporarily to see if the game runs correctly without them. To do this, move the Mods folder out of the Sims 4 directory. Then restart the game to see if the panels work.
    4. Update or Reinstall Mods/CC:

      • If the game works without mods, some mods or custom content may need updating. After a big update, it’s common for mods to need updates to stay compatible with the game.
    5. Check for Additional Updates:

      • Sometimes, EA releases a patch shortly after a big update to fix bugs. Make sure your game is fully up to date.
    6. Run as Administrator:

      • Right-click the Sims 4 icon and choose "Run as Administrator." This can sometimes help fix issues with game permissions.
    7. Reinstall the Game if Needed:

      • If all else fails, consider a full reinstall. Be sure to back up your saves and mods before uninstalling.

@zBotchedGoddess Most of that isn't needed for the OP's issues. They can first check if mods are the issue, then use the pinned resources as a first step to finding what needs updating. Only if it's not a mod issue do they need to start looking at some other options.
