Move the Mods folder to the Desktop, delete the localthumbcache.package file from the main The Sims 4 folder, and then repair the game from Origin. Restart the game and see if the cat interactions work.
If they do, then it's definitely a conflicting mod, so all you have to do is find out which one is not working or needs to be updated.- 4 years ago@GiardiniDiMarzo no problem! I will definitely try that! I have used some mods and cc in that household, will it be a problem if I remove the mods and try to start the game like you said?

Removing mods temporarily (because you move them to the desktop) does not erase saves, but it's better if you do a backup of them before testing without mods. Clearly if for example you have cc hair installed on those certain sims, you will see them bald.
So proceed as I said above, once restarted the game load that save (you will get the message that some items are gone, but it is normal, since you have removed the mods) and as first thing try to interact with the cats and see what happens (don't save, or if you want to, it's better to create a new save). At that point, if without mods the interaction with the cats worked, you have a tedious task ahead of you, which is to find out which mod conflicts. Here's a link with the current broken/updated mods
