Presets Not Working In-Game

Question

my sims 4 presets won't work in-game (face and body). i see them and can apply them during cas, but it goes back to the randomly generated sim's previous features once i enter the game. not only are their presets removed, but their skin details are also completely removed, leaving them with only their hair, makeup, accessories, and clothes. this is extremely frustrating because i'm unable to create sims knowing that these don't work..

i tried making a second sim using presets, but the same issue is occurring. i've seen about two other people posting about experiencing this, but unfortunately there haven't been any solutions yet -
any help would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

@vulentine&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Hi!&nbsp; Are you using any Mods or CC?&nbsp; If so, one of them may be causing a conflict.&nbsp; If not, I wonder if the problem is happening for you for all presets or just certain ones.Out of curiosity, I did a quick test by creating a new sim and changing her hair as well as her eyes, nose and mouth with presets.The changes did persist into Live Mode.

the only mod i have is MCCC. i have a lot of cc; i have had these presets in my game for a while, but they are just now not working.. all of my presets in general are not applying in live mode. i'm not sure if this has anything to do with the update, but i hope i can find a solution soon!

it could be some of my cc conflicting, but these presets have worked perfectly in the past.. i haven't gotten any new cc since i last updated.

i might try to download the Sims 4 again and see if this does anything - it seems like this is a rare issue..

@vulentine&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You might want to try moving your Mods folder out to your desktop or some other folder, and test the game without them.&nbsp; You'll also want to delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game for testing.&nbsp; That cache file can carry some effects of of Mods/CC even when they're removed.If the presets work without any mods/CC then you can try the steps in the spoiler below to find the culprit.&nbsp; It can be a bit of a tedious process but it will be worth it to fix your game.Spoiler (Highlight to read)If you do need to test your Mods / CC, and you have a lot of them, the 50/50 method works best. Try these steps1. Create a new game for testing so that your current save is left unchanged until you've identified the problem mods/CC.2. Create some folders on your desktop; perhaps one labeled "Tested Safe Mods-CC", another labeled "Mods-CC Needs Testing" and one more labeled "Broken Mods-CC" so you know which ones to check for updates. This will keep tested mods/CC separated.3. Exit the game if you haven't already, and divide your mods/CC in half; put one half in the Needs Testing folder and put/keep the other half into the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 / Mods folder.4. Delete the localthumbcache.package file, located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game with the half you're testing,5. If the game works with that half, exit the game, move that half to the Safe Mods-CC folder and move the remaining "Needs Testing" mods back to the Mods folder to test (Again, delete that cache file before opening the game.)6. Once you know which half is causing the issue, divide those in half, keeping one half in the "Needs Testing" folder and one half in your Mods folder, and test again (delete the cache file each time after moving mods/CC and before opening the game) and moving mods/CC not causing problems into the Safe folder.7.
