@thecharsims Are you quitting to desktop when switching saves, or just switching at the Main Menu? Does this happen with no mods present at all?
@puzzlezaddictI haven’t tested without mods. If I removed the mods, I don’t think it’ll change what already happened but I can try to test but the saves are already stuck that way, the previous ones are but I can see if I can replicate the issue from the current save somehow. Idk
I was only taking poses at the time so I used a previous save which was a current save at some point. I used the previous save to pose my sims and then I placed the pics I took into the current save that I had. The previous save was maybe a few hours behind the newer save. I save often, especially when building or taking in game camera pictures. So the save might be My Save Game 11 at 8:59p and the previous save might be My Save Game 8 at 6:30p but it’ll be from the same day, if that makes sense. During that time, I didn’t quit to desktop. I switched from the main menu. Though I have done that before but only when I’m not actually playing the game and only testing mods or cc in a new save game or previous one.
I went in game and took some screenshots really quick. I went into a previous save game where I had posed my sims and added random npc sims to the family the same way I did before. The sims I added are not the same sims from before.
The original reason I did this was purely for needing someone to take the pictures so I can add screenshots to my current save for family photos. However, I later found a way around that by adding in the same sim to the family (Geeta Rasoya) who I saved to the gallery a while back and then changed her name. Hoping that doing that would avoid me having to add in random npc's in the future.
I did try to replicate the issue but things don't work when you want them to. They only malfunction when you least expect it I guess. So I just settled for the weird things I noticed and captured them to post here. I wrote info on the images themselves but in the event, you can't read them, I'll try to be brief.
* I took images of my sims trying to speak with the random sims I added to their household, 2 male sims. They both showed up with weird displays above their heads. Instead of a name, they had " wicked_w_Do not Remove".
* The other issue is that, speaking to them didn't add a relationship to my sims panel, as if the weren't speaking to anyone. My own sims, however, their names were fine.
* There was also the issue of random money that was added to their family in the amount of 9 million simoleons. I never gave them that.
The other images with the writings in them weren't able to post due to it saying the size was too big. Not sure how to make them smaller than what they are. So idk
@thecharsims Since this isn't a commonly-reported issue, I've been wondering whether it's the combination of using MCCC (or perhaps another mod) and also switching saves at the Main Menu, but of course that's hard to prove when the game won't cooperate. At any rate, I'd strongly suggest making frequent backups until we can figure out when and why this happens. That way, if a household gets more sims you didn't want added, you can just restore the unaffected backup and continue as if nothing had happened.
