Question about a broken mod

Hey,

I hope it's okay to ask something like this, if not, I'm sorry.

So I recently noticed that my Sims were obsessed with showering and cooking. They would always cook and shower, even when their needs were full. It became quite annoying so I decided to find the reason for that behaviour and after like 30 minutes I discovered that it was because of a mod named "Easier Infant Care". I removed it and everything went back to normal.

I have no clue about modding and now I'm wondering why this mod was affecting the behavior of my Sims like this. The only thing the mod does is slowing down the need decay of infants.

Is there any explanation why this mod could break like that?

  • @Yin-hime The game has had four updates since that mod was last updated, which is one issue: if anything in those older Sims' autonomy coding in the game is tied to their infants' needs and that changed, then changing infant needs could affect that autonomous behaviour. Another possibility is that the mod is interacting with a different now-outdated mod and that's the result. Have you tested the mod alone, with no other mods/CC?

Also, thank you for the report! I'll add it to my list of things to test when I get a chance. Unfortunately, with a major patch coming tomorrow, that might not be right away. If you do test it alone, please let me know if it still causes this issue.

@luthienrising Thanks for the reply ^^

I redownloaded the mod and tested it without other mods and it seemed to work fine (at least they weren't showering or cooking every 2 seconds) though I don't know if this mod is actually still working because I don't have any infants in my families right now.

I thought it must be conflicting with one of my mods but it worked fine with every mod I have, even when I put all my mods back. I aged one of my Sims down to a child because she aged up to teen after I removed the mod and once she was a child, my Sims started being obsessed with showering again.

According to the Mod The Sims page, it looks like Easier Infant Care alters the sleeping behaviour of child Sims so I guess it conflicts with a mod that also changes the sleeping behaviour of Sims. (Probably the SleepIn mod by LMS?) I'll try it out once I'm home.
