Raining inside and putting up an umbrella

I recently started to have problem with my sims when it is raining outside that when they walk up the stairs they are putting up an umbrella and get wet from the rain inside the house... 

I've tried re-arranging the roof on multiple houses now and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't I also have it in pre-made sims houses like the one from the Goth family when they walk up the stairs to the highest level. What could be causing this? I don't use mods, only a few outfit cc, like hairs. But When I deleted that it still happens.
