Yes, like I also said if they are greeted outside they will stand there chatting for a while. If more join in the chatting the period before they decide to do something else will be prolonged. If you cancel the chatting and go in those that you have made an introduction to will eventually follow Any that you have not done an introduction to can't enter. Invite neighbor's in will allow all that are part of the welcome wagon to enter even if you have not yet done an introduction.
I hope this clears up your issues.
if you talk to lift visitor 1 before lift visitor 2 appers and knocks on your door, it... for leak of a better idea what it does.. it "turns off the AI" for them,, they'll just stand there doing nothing... not chatting to anyone, or moving.
(as long as ANYONE knocks on my door, the game/sims will work like they were intended to)
as stated before, sims that i've made an introdution to myself, before they knock on the door, wont come in (i've speed up time for a whole day)
if i interupt the door knocking process they'll bug out and stand there doing nothing (tested the whole day)
havn't tested what they do if they dont knock on my door at all,,, (mainly due to how much time i've spent restarting saves to test out the "welcome wagon" stage)
i suppose at some point i should test what happens and see if the issue still effects visitors x amount of days after the welcome wagon stage finishes
(by the welcome wagon stage, i mean pretty much first the few hours of moving in, while the buff is active in the top corner, and few hours after its finished)
im presuming they'll talk to people outside in the hallway,, if they were going to do that anyway,

Yes, with the welcome wagon if the first one there is not the one designated to make the knock on door he/she will wait for the other sim that have that role.
If they just stand there not chatting do you have an option to make an introduction.?

@Dave-1stReaper My current Sim lives in the ZenView apartments. It's one of the more affordable apartments that has a balcony. Miko and the others in the Karaoke Legends household are my Sim's neighbors. Miko visits my Sim at least one time every day, mostly because she is bored or hears music playing. Darling will sometimes knock on the door when she smells something good cooking. Akira mostly just pounds on the door when he thinks my Sim is being too noisy. Neither Darling or Akira ask to come in nearly as often as Miko. I think the higher you build friendships with them, the more often they'll want to visit. I've noticed this same thing with other Sim's I've played in other apartments. If you want to get lot of time with Miko (she is gorgeous!) then ZenView is the place you want to be. My Sim loves having that balcony space & I love the view.
Oh btw- I wish to say that I admire your tenacity in testing these things, so I wasn't being critical at all in my previous post-- I just hope that you are able to relax a bit more and enjoy playing San Myshuno when your testing is complete. It's a very unique place in the Sims 4 universe.
- 4 years ago@jpkarlsen,
i know with the welcome wagon (....to make it easier lets just call it the first day of moving in from now on)
i know that during the first day only 3 people will come to welcome me to the area, it will always be the same 3 (unless i move out salim and put someone else in)
if 2 of 3 visitors come to the door, but not the one who is tasked with knocking on, and i interact with any of the 2, the 3rd(door knocker doesn't appear,,, and i've waited 2 days for them to appear)
upon interupting the string of events the lead to door knocker knocking on the door, the sims that are already there waiting on door knocker will stay in place, not interacting with anyone or anything (automatically,,, for example salim and baako or anaya are close enough to look at and talk to each other, but due to the interuption, they wont do anything to each other)
if my controlled sims are tasked with interacting with them by me or automatically,,, the npcs will react to me, but they wont move from that spot - 4 years ago
@RandomBuzzinessah cool, ill consider switching to zenview sometime when i get around to not keep starting new games every 30 mins lol...
and LMFAO just picturing that in my mind makes me laugh
miko standing againest to wall waiting till she can hear music before she knocks on.... what happens if you 1.dont have music on, or 2. feel like living in complete silence XD?
and the image of darling walking around every so often just sniffing the air xD OHH MY GODDDDDDD FOOOOD xD
------
also if one of them are miko... wasn't expecting that XD...
considering miko sounds of asian decent expected to see miko dressed like a shine maiden (the gurb with red hakama {pants}, and white kosode (top?/robe?)....that or i've played to many rpgs / watched to normal anime,,, that just so happens to have shrine maidens called miko lol
.....ohhh... theres an idea... with the dlc that adds the zen garden items,,, i need to find out of there options for shine maiden gurb 🙂
thanks for the idea Buzz
:P oh i know ya wasn't being critical 🙂, as for relexing a bit.... mmmm prob not lmao ill most likely come across something else to torment me lol...as stupid and wierd as it sounds... i think i have more fun finding, installing and testing stuff over playing the actual game itself
(prime example of this was... spending 6 months getting and testing 237 mods for skyrim to have the perfect playstyle for how i like to play ...only to not play skyrim since lol....) - RandomBuzziness4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Dave-1stReaper I edited Miko's cold-weather outfit that she's wearing in that pic. I didn't much change her appearance other than that. She has light purple hair by default. Yeah, Miko does sound Asian, but "ojo" is Spanish for "eyes", so I'm not really sure what EA Maxis was going for with her? Probably just a pretty city-girl Sim with a cool name. I usually make up backstories for my Sims & I think there are plenty of possible backstories that would work very well for Miko & explain how she got her name. This is the Maxis default version of Miko in her everyday outfit.
I use mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4, but those are a lot trickier than in Sims 4, so I only use a few. I'd have to look; I think it's probably less than 10 mods in each game. I use about 2 GB of mods and CC for Sims 4 and I know people that have as much as 40 GB!

@RandomBuzzinessXD
i used the be one of thoses lol before i got all the dlc
now ive only got a handfull of cloth and sim dlc the rest are tweaks like,
immersive vampires, mccc, tool, in home services for a workfrom home daycare/pet care theres a house near the apartment i use thats got a fairly large groundfloor area, and few rooms upstairs.... im thinking i might "work the daily 9-5" to up my skills and make a bit of money,,, then buy it re-vamp it so that the daycare area is downstairs, and my actual home is upstairs offlimits 🙂
i believe its <edit> not even close...
next neighbourhood over
The Old Salt House
i realllly like the open floor plan on that lot :D
would make a live in gym/daycare/petcare or (bar if its do-able?) a nice idea :D
...just so long as i no longer encounter any more bugs, and stick to one game XD
