Hi @skyskyxd Welcome to AHQ 🙌
I think you can only load one CAS background mod at a time, so make sure you remove any old background mods before you install a new one. If you have more than one they'll probably conflict with each other. Make sure your new mod is not still compressed in a .zip file or .7z or anything like that. It has to be unzipped into a .package file that goes directly in your Mods folder. Make sure the game did not disable mods and CC in your Game Options during a game patch installation through Origin. Make sure you still have a file called Resource.cfg in your Mods folder.
Another important step when making changes to your Mods folder is to clear your game cache by deleting the localthumbcache.package file from your Sims 4 folder. The game will auto-generate a new cache file the next time you launch it. I delete this file any time I make any change to my mods folder. It's probably over-kill but it only takes a second and it might save me from having to troubleshoot my mods later.
So I have a few questions to help us figure this out in case the above steps didn't solve the problem:
- Are you on PC or Mac?
- Is this the only mod you use or do you have others? (If yes, I don't need to know what they are)
- If you do have other mods, are they still working fine?
- If you put your old CAS background mod back in your Mods folder, does it still work?
It could be that those new CAS Background mods you are trying to use were made obsolete at some point by a game patch. It's fairly common for mods to get broken any time there is a big game-changing patch like the one on June 3rd. Here a link to a great mods tracking site where you can search to see if your mods have been updated or if they are obsolete with no replacements:
https://simsonic.weebly.com/modtracker.html
Just scroll down to where you see "Main Tracker / A - Z" and click on that.
I do have a CAS Background mod in my game that is still working fine so I know for certain that at least some of them should still work after the June 3rd patch. I can't post a link on AHQ but if you go to the Mod The Sims website and search for Old School CAS Room you should be able to find it pretty easily. I love that it has the mirror so I can see the front and the back of a hairstyle at the same time.
Good luck, I hope some of this helps :D If not, please let us know and we can look into trying something else.
I'm just a regular Sims player, I don't work for EA
