Re: [CURRENT ISSUE] Tunable_perf Error - Exception Alert

@gabster1865 This is caused by mods that include a .ts4script file produce this error because of a fix they added after December 5, 2023 that's no longer needed after February 28, 2024. Start at the list of updated mods pinned in Mod/CC Issues.

@luthienrising I updated all my mods that I was aware of, but maybe I missed a smaller one. I'll take a look at the list and play without them for now. Thank you!

Hi there, I've been having this issue too and I usually play with a lot of mods so I updated everything and still got the issue. Then I removed all my mods except better exceptions and the problem still didn't stop. I don't know if it will be helpful at all but I attached the BE reports from both before and after I removed all my mods.

I thought I had updated BE because I had the most recent version available on Patreon but when I opened my game this morning I got a pop-up saying to update to 3.13 and that did seem to fix it. Tysm for your help 🙂

Having this LE issue as well and unfortunately none of the mentioned mods have turned out to be the problem mod for me, so slowly resigning myself to the fact that I'll have to go through my ~4k mods to narrow it down the old-fashioned way 🙃😭

For me, the culprit mod ended up being one of Basemental's adult mods (which don't get listed on AHQ's updated/broken mods lists), so everyone make sure to remember to manually check for updates on your adult mods as well! 🙂

I removed all of my mods, excluding BE, and still got the error.

@Tinkabel76 Did you also delete the file called localthumbcache? And is your version of BE updated to the current one? It was fixed for that error.

@Tinkabel76 BE itself isn't causing this error. (I've been using it since the update while testing other mods). Could you screenshot your Mods folder for me, please?

@Tinkabel76 Okay. Let's try some deeper clearing:

    1. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
    2. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
    3. Exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
    4. Copy only the Better Exceptions Script file into the new Mods folder.
    5. Launch Sims 4 to test.

@Tinkabel76 Awesome! Copy them back in in batches, and test between batches. That should help you find what's not working yet.

If I have already removed all mods/saves/trays/any other folder that has any trace of personalized content, and this error still appears, what do I do?
The only file that I still have in the game that may be related in some way to this error is Better Exceptions itself, which I have already updated just in case.
When I put it together with the MCC Command Center, the MCC also presents an error.
The only way to fix this problem would be to repair the game or something?

Okay, I think I understand the problem... the only alternative is to remove Better Exceptions, and it seems that the MCC stops giving errors when I do that, so... yeah.

  • @akinxo That removes in-game notifications of errors (including other ones). It doesn't change the existence of the error. To solve the existence of the error, make sure that any script mods you have that were updated after Dec. 5 were reupdated for the February 27 patch. That's the only actual fix.

I'm in the same boat as this user. I've checked and made sure my script mods are up to date, but the error persisted. Even went as far as removing every single mod except for TM's BE Mod and MCCC, but the tunable error keeps being generated. I am very stuck on how to move forward.

@simsterial Any .ts4script file that was updated after the Dec. 5, 2023 patch and not updated for the February 28 patch can cause this error. Check all your files ending .ts4script for the file date. Some simply have not been updated after the Feb. 28 patch fixed the Dec. 5 issue.
