I'm using Windows and I can no longer play my game. Opening it works, CAS works, but I can't play or access the game. And all this has been happening since EA delivered it this morning. Is this related?

Can you explain further? If you are being kicked back to the world select screen when trying to load a household that is a Mods issue. Remove your Mods folder, trash the localthumbcache.package file, repair the game and try again.
I am having the same issue. Repeatedly kicked back to world menu, but I can access CAS. Error code: 122:502fc384:611e5d3
Removing my mods causes the game to crash instantly on launch. Removing the localthumbcache did not fix anything.
Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?
- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.
Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.
How do you repair the game?
I also have that issue ! I saw someone ask for a lastexception file so i deleted all of them and it created a new one ! here it is
