in most cases, this issue is caused by mods/cc.
Please move your mods folder to the desktop, delete Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > localthumbcache and then try again on a backup of your save,

Thank you for this. I tried and the game works without mods so I will have to test each mod and see which one is the issue.
