Re: How does grafting work?

@Pig_Girl2003  You need to graft a cutting onto an existing whole plant.

If you have more specific questions about grafting strategies, e.g. which plants should be combined for various effects, feel free to ask here; I'm sure someone who's spent more time with the feature than I have would be happy to answer.

@puzzlezaddict I saw that much, but idk how good I phrased my question. What does this actually mean? Even then, is the cutting what's considered to be the base plant, or the actual plant?

@Pig_Girl2003  The base plant is the one that's in the ground, and the graft is the one you stick onto the base plant.  It comes from real life, where gardeners might graft a branch of one kind of apple tree onto another kind so as to get multiple flavors of apples on one tree.  In Sims 4, you'd similarly get harvestables from both the base plant and the graft.

Among the advantages of grafting is that you can use a base plant that doesn't go dormant and continue to get harvestables that would otherwise be unavailable out of season.
