@072913Grace You won't have to worry about losing your expansion packs, those are in your sims 5 root folder and should be fine, but regardless, packs are linked to your account so if for any reason they get removed from your computer you can always re-download them 🙂
As far as the issues you're having, to narrow down the cause, you'll want to try removing all mods/cc from your game (and deleting localthumbcache) and test it out to see if the issue is gone. If everything is back to normal, you know it's something in your mods, so you'll want to 50-50 them and pinpoint the culprit.
