Re: I can't edit my lot or save my game

Hi @rrxnis0cks. Try copying your Saves folder to your desktop (for backup), then drag the whole Mods folder to the desktop and delete the localthumbcache file. Is that save now saveable or editable?

It might be your save, not your game. Can you edit other lots? Can you save a New game? If you load an earlier version of that save from the main menu, can you save?

HI @Lolareck There can be multiple causes of this, so let's rule out a common one first: Are you playing with any mods or CC in your Mods folder? If so, see what happens after you drag that folder to your desktop and delete localthumbcache. (Don't save, though! Or test in a new game.)

@rrxnis0cks Let's do a clean-folder test with a game repair, and work toward your current save after that:

    • Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
    • Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
    • Select "New" and see if you can edit any lot and save (call it "Test Save" - those are useful to have around!)
    • If that worked, exit and copy just your most recent save to the new Saves folder, and see if you can edit a lot that came with the game.
