Re: Kids eyes can't be edited

I don't! There's no color options at all, not even one lmao they all default to a golden brown color like the thumbnails and I can't change it until they're grown teens, not even CC colors appear when I download them. I mainly access CAS from MCCC because it lets me have full editing control, but even making new infant/child sims (rather than waiting for a sim to be born between two adults) and I have the same issue.

What folder can I rename? I haven't tried that yet no.

Try the following

• Close the game
• Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
• Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
• Start a new save game
• Check if you still have the error
• Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

Thank you! I tried that and tried both creating an infant in CAS and having a baby through gameplay and editing the infant there, both work. What am I doing wrong in my usual save?

Maybe some mod was still active. Try copying just your save back a and test that

I've been super busy, so I haven't been able to do this again until now. I tried putting everything back on, and somehow that ended up with even adults eyes not being editable like kids. No color options at all, everyone was showing with basic honey brown eyes. So I did it all again, tested it again, works just fine without the CC, so before I moved it all back to the new folders, I removed all my CC that is eye colors, adults eye colors work again, but they're still broken on kids. I suppose it has to be another CC, but I don't know what to even test?

Hi @laurellances ! A lot of default replacement eyes that weren't updated after the Infants patch will work on adults but break Infant eyes especially. I'd suggest first going through your CC in case there's a misplaced eyes file. That seems to be the most likely cause to me.

There are some related mods that could also be issues. Eyelash mods might be an issue as well, as well as Eye Shine Remover mods (there's an update by teekalu for those). Fogity's Unlocked CAS Parts is another possible culprit and hasn't been updated (it can be replaced with Crilender's). I'd also try any skin detail mods.

A second thing to check is that UI mods are all updated - More Columns, Color Sliders, and the like. All Scenarios is another possible culprit.  

Yeah I assumed that's what happened, I just never had enough eye-adjacent CC to break like that. Especially because when I did remove them, it continued happening. I tried removing skin overlays and eyelashes too, and I don't have the others (eye shine removers, unlocked cas, more columns, color sliders, all scenarios, none), but it's still happening. I just tried removing my entire make up cc folder and that seems to have worked, so now I have to go one by one and check which one's breaking the game lol crazy that make up it's the one causing that. I'll post an update when I'm done, in case this helps anyone else in the future.

Ok after going through a billion makeup merged cc archives, it was something from PralineSims. I had a few eyeshadows and some eye contacts in the facepaint category, I can't tell which one of those were because at that point I was tired so I deleted them all. But if this is happening to anyone else, check if you have PralineSims makeup lol

@laurellancesThose contacts sound like the most likely culprit! Check for updates - that creator was able to update *most* eyes/contacts after the Infants patch.
