Re: Merging mods/cc
@nadineabdoun When people were testing this several years ago, it didn't improve load time. A few people say it does, but I'll note below why it's a bad idea anyway.
If your issue is game load time, when launching Sims 4, go to Options > Other and turn off the option to show mods and CC on loading.
Here's why you shouldn't merge files:
- When a mod or CC item is reported broken, you won't be able to see that you have it. It won't show up in search, and reading through your folder won't show it.
- When you're doing a 50-50 to find the item breaking your game, you'll find a merged folder of lots of stuff that you'll then have to unmerge to test
- If you download an update of a CC item, you'll end up with a duplicate or you'll have to find where you put it and unmerge that file
- If you accidentally download content you already own, you'll end up with duplicates, and that is a lag cause.
