Re: Missing textures and indefinite loading

Hi @1zzmoon. Just to check, when you removed mods, did you also delete localthumbache? If you did and you *still* have this problem, you might have had a save or some lots in it corrupted by outdated mods. As a first step to find that out, try a new save, without mods or localthumbcache, to see if the problem is isolated to that particular save.

I'd also suggest checking to see if there are updated versions for your mods or if any are known broken. This is a starting point for that: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/1009959/broken-updated-mods-cc-july-2023-horse-ranch-patch. After today, the next of that post series will be here on AHQ.

Yes. Whenever I removed the mods I deleted the localthumbcache and did so after each test. (With and without mods) When I did this there was still an issue. Every time I tested, I created a new save, and the problem still persisted. Even without mods and after deleting the localthumbcache, in a new save, the problem was still there.

@1zzmoon I'd suggest, then, updating the game now, as there was a patch a few hours ago. Hopefully, that solves your issue. If not, you could try a folder refresh. I can dig up some instructions on that.

Alright, I've updated my game. If you could get some instructions on that it could be helpful, thank you!

@1zzmoon Sorry, was at dinner! Okay, here's what you do for a folder refresh:

    1. Go to Documents > Electronic Arts and drag your whole Sims 4 folder to your desktop, so it's gone from there. Your Saves, Library, etc. will be on your desktop to put back later.
    2. Start The Sims 4
    3. Go to Options to set those up how you like them
    4. Start a "New" game from the Main Menu and see if you're having the issues you were before.

If all that goes well, then exit the game, go to the folder on your desktop, into the Saves folder, and copy the individual files there over to the new Saves folder that the game made. Now check to see if your old save is okay.

If that goes well, you can start adding batches of mods back into your new folder to check them out. Each time you make changes to the Mods folder, delete the file called localthumbcache.
